- Kayak around San Sebastiano Lake.
- Relax in a natural hot tub in the middle of a river.
- Snorkel in crystal-clear, cobalt blue waters.
- Go canyoning through a spectacular ravine.
- Hike forest trails to hidden waterfalls.
This trip will introduce you to some of the most beautiful coastal and inland natural attractions on the island. You will explore a picturesque islet in the middle of a lake by kayak and learn the tragic story of the church that was built there. You’ll also snorkel around the spectacular Cape Marrargiu coastline, hike down into a ravine to see a hidden cave and waterfall and go canyoning through some amazing natural pools.
There’s also some history interwoven into this trip. You’ll visit the ruins of a Byzantine Roman bath house and learn why thermal springs were so important to the Romans, then bathe in a natural hot tub in the middle of the river.
You’ll also visit the archaeological site of a Nuragic, Bronze Age, village to explore inside a sacred well. The geometric construction of this well is incredibly sophisticated, given that it was built 3000 years ago, and rivals Stonehenge in its mysterious solar and lunar alignment.
There’s some wonderful flora and fauna to check out en route too; the marine life along the North West coast, dense oak forests and woodland flowers framing the waterfalls, and a huge variety of birdlife, including the rare and threatened Griffon Vulture.
If this all sounds a bit hectic, there’s some chill time built in on lovely Bosa Beach, and a couple of charming beach and riverside restaurants for a lazy lunch.
Note that many of the Points of Interest on this trip need to be booked in advance. Details on how to book are outlined in the itinerary.
