The water is a clear, cobalt blue and full of marine life, and the cliffs and small fjords are stunning. If you’re lucky, you may even see the rare griffon vulture nesting on the rocks. The trip is 3 hours long and is suitable for beginners.

    Istrampu de Sos Molinos

Sos Molinos is one of a few large waterfalls in Sardinia that flows all year. From the car park, follow the mule track down into the valley. It’s an easy path, with steps to follow and although it can be steep in places, there are handrails and resting points. The trail will take you through a lush, shady, forest of oaks and alders and laurel plants. It should take around 30-45 minutes and it’s well worth it when you get to the bottom!
The waterfall drops from a height of 30 metres in 5 ‘jumps’; the largest – and the most spectacular – is the final one, which drops 15 metres into a large pool. Here you can take a refreshing swim, surrounded by flowers and plants. Look out for wild orchids here. The name ‘Sos Molinos’ (the mills) refers to the River Molinos, the source of the waterfall, which powered several water mills, pre-industrialization.
