About me
I caught the travel bug when I was ten when my parents took me and my sister on a US road trip. A decade later, I started running children's adventure tours in France and then moved on to designing and running adventure tours for adults in the USA, Europe and the Middle East, and travelling independently when I wasn't working.
In my late 20s, I set up a community tourism venture in Thailand and started working for a sustainable tourism charity that would later become The Travel Foundation, where I spent the next few decades working to make sure that travel and tourism became something that was as positive and enriching for the local people as it was for the visitor.
Over the years I've been fortunate enough to work for governments, businesses and charities all over the world, creating new tourism products and itineraries and helping small local entrepreneurs reap some of the benefits of tourism.
I've never lost my passion for travel and have recently 'retired' to Portugal so that I can get a new camper van and spend more time doing what I love.
