The island of Sicily is small, but it has a great variety of places to visit and enjoy. For this reason, this 3-day itinerary proposes a route of the west of the island, as it is difficult to cover the whole island in such a short time.
The first day starts in Palermo and goes to Cefalù, one of the most beautiful villages on the island. On the way you can make a short detour to visit the Castle of Caccamo. After touring Cefalù, the journey continues to Enna to spend the night.
On the second day you will visit the castle in Enna to have a breathtaking view of the Etna volcano. Then, you will travel to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples, one of the most famous places in Sicilia, and drive to Selinunte where you will pass the night.
On the third day, you will visit an archaeological site in Selinunte and you will pass through the town of Marsala, to visit the salt pans. On the way to Palermo, you will drive to Segesta, where another famous archaeological site is located.
This route can be done all year round, but is best done in the spring-summer months, because the days have more sunlight and more activities can be done. Ready for the roadtrip?
