Selinunte Archaeological Park
The first proposal of the day is to visit the archaeological site of Selinunte. This site is one of the largest archaeological parks in the Mediterranean and is divided into three parts: the area of Ancient city where the E temple is located (the one in the photographs), the area of the Acropolis and the area of Malophoros.
Temple E, dedicated to the goddess Hera, is the only one that can be seen almost complete, as the others are almost in ruins. So, if you are very interested in the subject, you can spend about three hours on the walk. If you just want to see Temple E and a few other sites, an hour and a half or two is fine.
Along the way you can visit the Baglio Florio Museum, where you can see various artefacts discovered at the site.
You can find more information about the temples and the different suggested itineraries on this website.
Open Hours Every day from 9:00 - 17:00

Donnafugata
The next proposed stop is the city of Marsala, which is famous for its denomination of origin wines and for being the place where Giuseppe Garibaldi landed in 1860 to undertake the Italian unification.
As it is lunchtime, the proposal is that you do a tasting of marsala wine with typical food of the area. In this link you can see the options for tours and tastings. For the timetable, you can choose the Sicilian Brunch, which lasts 90 minutes and starts at 13:00.

Saline of the Laguna Marsala
The second proposal is to visit the salt pans of Marsala, which are also famous. The salt pans are named after Hector and Infersa and were created in Phoenician times. You can leave your car parked before entering.
When you enter the salt pans there will be an element that will catch your attention, it is the mill with six large blades and a red pyramid-shaped dome.
On the tour of the salt pans you can see how the mill works, walk around the salt pans, learn about the process through multimedia content and even do a salt tasting.
On this website you can see the activity options and timetables. As the schedules vary according to the time of year and the activity, take into account the option you choose to organise your day.

Segesta Commercial Paid Parking
The car park is about 2 km from the entrance to the park. There is a shuttle bus that takes you there. In the past, you could park at the entrance to the park, but lately you can't park there. Anyway, you can walk up to the gate and ask for the car park.

Parco Archeologico di Segesta
The archaeological park of Segesta has two main attractions: the Temple of Segesta and the Theatre of Segesta.
The Temple of Segesta is also known as the unfinished temple because it was never finished and can be seen as it was left unfinished. It is a Doric-style temple with 36 columns.
The Greek theatre of Segesta is located on the top of a hill and is not visible from the temple area. But from the theatre you have a beautiful view of the Temple, which you will love! The theatre can be reached on foot or by shuttle bus. The bus leaves from the cafeteria area near the gate (not from the cafeteria near the car park where you left your car). It is almost always recommended to take the bus up and walk down to enjoy the scenery.
Open Hours March and October: 9:00 - 18:30 (in this case it is recommended not to stop earlier for coffee).
April, May, June, July, August and September: 9:00 - 19:30
January, February, November and December: 9:00 - 17:00 (in this case it is recommended not to stop earlier for coffee and to accommodate the schedules of the previous visits in order to arrive on time).
You can see the exactly timetables on this website.
