Diverse Day 2: Monasteries, WW1 Hisotry, Waterfalls, Lakes and Bridges!
Day two is spent exploring some beautiful sites, learning about history and swimming among stunning waterfalls. You'll start with a coffee to break up the drive before heading to an impressive monastery in a gorgeous environment.
Once you get to Skra, the route takes you to a WW1 museum where you'll learn about the Battle of Skra, which I found very thrilling while in the town itself. After lunch, it's time to soak up the serenity of the marvellous Skra Waterfalls, with lovely little pools to swim in. On your way back to Thessaloniki, you'll gaze out over a quaint lake and discover a rickety-old bridge before dinner.

WW1 Museum of the Battle of Skra-di-Legen
In Skra, there's a fantastic WW1 museum where you can find some artifacts from the Battle of Skra that happened during this time. I knew nothing about the battle before visiting Skra, so stopping here gave me some wonderful context about the area. Stop in here for a history lesson before lunch.

Skra Waterfalls
Don't expect the same water-flowing power as Edessa at Shra Waterfalls, but expect a much more peaceful and relaxing experience. Skra has water streams flowing from the mountains above into a magical pool below. The best part is swimming and soaking up the fresh water in these pools. I loved reading by the pool to the sound of the falling water and jumping in the unique coloured water whenever I got too hot - such a memorable moment.

Τεχνητή Λίμνη Μεταλλείου
At the bottom of the Skra national park lies a beautiful lake - and the best thing about it is that it reminds a hidden gem with very few people around. You can sit here, with any nibbles you manage to grab on the way and enjoy the view, reflecting on the beauty and special moments of the last two days.
