The Village of Pogost and Kolodozero

Start your day by admiring the river scenery. Not far from the small and very beautiful church there is a suspended, wooden bridge over the Andoma River. The river flows into Lake Onega, which resembles a sea.

Spend the first half of the day on the beach Shalsky with golden sand and clear waters of Lake Onega. The beach is accessed through the village of wooden buildings.
Clean sand, the smell of pine trees and one-storey houses at the cliff - what can be better on such a beautiful day.
If you think the water in the lake seems cool, try a swim in the Vodla, the water is much warmer here.

Have lunch at the restaurant "Na Ugly", which serves a variety of very tasty dishes - from khachapuri in Ogli to sushi. It's a great place to relax after a long trip.

The lake edge. The village of Pogost. Guest house built in 1926. Previously guests from Moscow, Peter, Estonia, Hamburg came here for church holidays. The house was rarely empty, being a haven for people who were confused and simply wanted to have a rest from the city fuss.
Only Arkady Shlykov lived here all year round, and he also served in the church on the bank of the Kolodozero, which he built himself. The church was never closed. He ran the farm, looked after the old people, orphanages, played football with local boys. In February 2018, Father Arkady was gone. His friends now live in the big house, their doors are also open for travelers. A huge library and a collection of films. There's a samovar on the table. Drinking tea and watching Antonioni's movies.

If you are traveling in summer months, we recommend visiting Kenozersky National Park (you can also visit in winter, but in that case you should leave earlier or skip the previous stop). Here, the purest Arkhangelsk air, combined with the incredible nature of the region and the crystal clear lakes will make your head spin!
