Welcome to the first Pueblo Blanco of today! You have arrived in Algodonales. It's a very cosy town with just around 6000 inhabitants. There are a lot of skydiving companies around to have a go. But maybe save it for another day, because there is a lot to see on the ground as well.

You will find it at the Plaza de la Constitución, in het centre. The church has been here since 1784 and is still in use. When you go in, you will see the beautiful statues and a nice organ. Outside you will find that every wall is heavily decorated and the tower of the church is simply spectacular to see.

If you like it or not, Bul fighting is a big part of Spanish culture. Although, for a couple of years now more voices are heard to stop the 'sports'. Bullfighting was even banned in Catalonië in several part of Spain from 2010, but after the it was placed on the list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage" the ban was lifted. In Andalusia, bullfights are still common, though not as popular as they used to be. We don't recommend you to see an actual bull fight. But it is nice to see what these arena's look like. Even if you don't go in, they still look impressive. Click here if you want to stop the bull fighting.

This tapas bar is open until late in the evening. You can enjoy different kinds of tapas. Did you know the word tapas comes from the word tapar, which means to cover. When people used to drink in bars, their drinks had to be protected from flies and other bugs. In order to do that, people would put little pieces of bread covered with ham on top of their drinks. Now you can still order bread with ham as 'tapas' but also things like 'Albondigas' 'Croquettas' but we don't recommend trying to cover your drink with those. Every town in Andalusia has got its own tapas specialities. Wherever you go, just ask the waiter what is good and you will get the best food everywhere.
