    • Discover the magnificent industrial heritage of the Red Lands.
    • Be fascinated by the castles of Clervaux, Vianden or Larochette.
    • Taste the crémant wines of the Moselle wine-growing region.
    • Visit the iconic town of Schengen, symbol of Europe.
    • Connect with dazzling nature in the Werschrumschlüff gorge.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a small country in Western Europe located between Germany to the east, France to the south and Belgium to the west and north. It is currently the country with the highest per capita income in the world and ranks second in world GDP behind Qatar thanks to the private banking sector and investment funds. Abbeys, castles, endless natural parks, industrial heritage and hiking trails are some of the ingredients you will experience on this 4-day road trip through the Grand (unknown) Duchy.
Although Luxembourg is a destination that can be visited all year round, I suggest you travel between May and September to experience all the splendor of its nature, the driving is safer and the temperatures are much more pleasant.
A word of advice before you start exploring the Grand Duchy. You should buy the LuxembourgCard which includes free admission and discounts at 90 tourist attractions including museums, art galleries, castles, palaces.... You can buy it for 1, 2 and 3 days online from the VisitLuxembourg website or app.

Terres Rouges: Differdange, Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange and Bettembourg

In the south of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg lies the region of the Red Lands, Minett for the Luxembourgers. Why this name? The reason is historical. It is due to the bright red iron whose extraction generated a great economic impact in this region thanks to the development of the iron and steel industry during the industrial era. Today, an excellent industrial heritage is still standing today, which gives hints of the past splendor and which has been able to adapt itself by orienting itself towards science and cutting-edge research. During this stage in the Terres Rouges you will discover a wide range of cities such as Differdange, Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange or Bettembourg with a powerful cultural and gastronomic offer. Not forgetting of course the impressive surrounding nature.

Later, a bit of fresh air and hiking in the Our Natural Park and to regain your strength, you will enjoy a delicious meal in a restaurant listed as a monument before visiting the castle of Clervaux.
