Day 1

The Village Perched in the Ravine Above the River and a Moorish Fortress
The first day begins with a stop at the castle of Villena, built in the Arab period and used for various purposes over the centuries.
Already in the province of Albacete, the first stop is the charming village of Alcala del Jucar. The riverbed meanders over a deep ravine and this is where the town is located. The rest of the day is dedicated to discover its main sites such as the castle and the cave houses, to contemplate the postcard of Alcala del Jucar from the Roman bridge, both day and night.

Day 2

Jorquera, the Castle of Chinchilla and the Main Square of Alcaraz.
The second day of the route begins bordering the canyon of the Jucar River until reaching Jorquera. You have to stop at the viewpoint to observe this village that seems to be stopped in time at the top of the ravine.
In the vicinity of Albacete, one of the stops will be in Chinchilla de Montearagón, the village where the castle sits on top. There will be time to visit its ancient walled gates and cave houses.
The last stop of the day is in Alcaraz, where sites such as the castle, the aqueduct and the charming main square with its Tardón tower welcome you.

The Viewpoints Overlooking the Town and the Mountains in Letur and Ayna
On the third day, the road goes into the mountains to visit two villages surrounded by high rock formations.
Ayna is called the Spanish Switzerland because of the geography that surrounds it and its buildings with low houses and red roofs. This village is famous for being the place where the movie Amanece, que no es poco was filmed.
Letur is another charming village, its narrow cobbled streets and stone houses give it a spectacular atmosphere.

Yeste and the Way Back Stopping at Caravaca and Orihuela
The last village of Albacete on the route is Yeste, where its terraces staggered in the mountains are the base for the ancient buildings and the castle at the top.
On the way back to Alicante, there are two interesting stops to make. Caravaca de la Cruz in Murcia with its basilica and traditions, and Orihuela in the province of Alicante, famous for being the birthplace of Miguel Hernandez, the great Spanish writer.
