Abercorn Parish Church
Parts of the historic Abercorn Church date back to around 1100, and the site itself is linked to St. Ninian and his mission in the late 400s. But it is the graveyard that piques the interest of Outlander fanatics, being the site of Frank's final resting place following his tragic car accident, with the viewers seeing Bree paying her respects at Frank's graveside.

Hopetoun House
One of the most impressive and imposing houses in Britain, Hopetoun House has been the residence of the influencial Hope family for over three hundred years. A tour of this stately home will divulge beautiful interiors and stunning artwork.
Hopetoun House has featured regularly throughout the seasons of Outlander and has proved to be a highly adaptable film set.
We are introduced to Hopetoun House during season 1 as the home of the Duke of Sandringham, with the Red Drawing Room taking front stage. The following duel between the Duke and chief of the McDonald clan also took place on the lawns at the rear of the house.
Those with keen eyes will also recognise the courtyard behind the Stables Tearoom as the streets of Paris in season 2.
The living room next to the Red Drawing Room was the location where Jamie talks with Lord Dunsany at the start of his time in Helwater.
Two upstairs bedrooms were also prominent during season 2, with the one containing the green bed being a Parisian guest room used by Claire and Jamie and the other being Mary Hawkins' bedroom at her Uncle Silas' home.

Blackness Castle
Blackness Castle was built as a Royal castle in 1453 and has a striking resemblance to a great ship when viewed from the jetty. Over the years, the castle changed roles, becoming a state prison and artillery fortification.
The stone courtyard was used as the set for Jamie's whipping at the hands of Black Jack Randall during season 1. It is also where Jamie rescues Claire from the clutches of Black Jack Randall, jumping into the water below the castle's high walls.
Open Hours: 1 April - 30 September Monday - Sunday: 10:00 - 17:00
1 October - 31 March Monday - Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00

Linlithgow Palace
Visit the grounds of the royal 'pleasure palace,' where the Mary Queen of Scots was born in 1542. This royal residence now lays in ruins, but was an impressive residence when built in 1424.
Walk around Linlithgow Loch, with the circuit offering beautiful views of the palace.
It was at the palace that the scenes of the fictional Wentworth Prison were filmed. These harrowing images of Jamie's assault by Black Jack Randall are some of the most memorable from season 1.
