    Tullibardine Chapel

The medieval Tullibardine Chapel is under the care of Historic Scotland and is one of the only Scottish churches that was unaltered by the Reformation. Built for the Murray family, Lord George Murray, a general in Bonnie Prince Charlie's army, buried his daughter here in 1740.
The connection with the Prince has extended into the modern day and season 2 of Outlander, since the chapel was used as Jamie, Claire, Dougal, Fergus and Rupert shelter as they fled to Inverness. It was at this point they were discovered by the Redcoats and they 'rescued' Claire from her supposed Highland captors.

    Drummond Castle Gardens

Drummond Castle Gardens were originally planted in the 1630s, being reconstructed in the 19th century and are a stunning example of a formal terraced garden.
They bear a striking resemblance to the gardens of Versailles, so it is perhaps no surprise that Drummond was used as a filming set for season 2's episode "Not in Scotland Anymore". The most memorable scene shot here is, undoutedbly, when Jamie and Claire have a surprise meeting with the dastardly Black Jack Randall in the grounds of the French palace.

    Tibbermore Church

Explore the exteriors and graveyard of Tibbermore Church, which was constructed in 1632, taking note of the delicate arched entrance to church grounds.
This was the filming location of one of the most dramatic scenes of season 1, since it was used as the court for the witch trial in which Geillis was condemned to execution, while Claire gets rescued by Jamie.
Generally, the church is not open to visitors. However, access is possible by contacting the buildings keyholder to arrange entry. The keyholder can be reached in advance by telephone at 0131 563 5135 or 07780 682961, or by email at [email protected].
