Filimonovskaya Toy and Belyovaya Pastille

It is the only museum in Russia where unique clay toys from more than 40 regions are collected. The exposition of the museum includes about 3000 toys. The basis is the Filimonovskaya toy. For several centuries in the village of Filimonovo lived pottery. And they made bright whistles out of clay remainders. By the middle of the XIX century, Tula clay figures became popular throughout the country. Since then, the secrets of their production are passed from generation to generation. A small museum dedicated to the traditional crafts of Belyov. Visitors will learn how to weave the finest local lace and prepare the famous Belyov pastille. You can take part in workshops on weaving lace on bobbins, woodcarving or creating ritual dolls. You can also taste and buy local pastila, kissel, marshmallow and marmalade if you wish. "Spasskoye-Lutovinovo is the only memorial museum of I.S. Turgenev in Russia. The estate was built at the beginning of the XIX century by landowner I.I. Lutovinov, and then it was inherited by I.S. Turgenev's mother and became a family nest of the Turgenevs. Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev spent his childhood here, came for rest and holidays. In 1852 the writer was in exile in Spassky. It was here in 1861 that he wrote the novel "Fathers and Children". Now you can visit the house-museum, outbuilding, park and the Temple of the Savior of Transfiguration.
