Novgorod Museum-Reserve

The architectural and natural reserve of wooden architecture is located on the shore of the Myachino Lake near the Yuryev monastery.
The museum presents a village smithy, a stable with the exposition "Vehicles of Novgorod Province", a threshing house with a barn with seasonal expositions "A threshing house in early spring", "Drying and threshing of crops", "Threshing - collective flax processing (threshing)", a barn, a bathhouse with the exposition "Bath. Washing".
In winter you can take a ride on the ice hills and sledges here. In summer, festivals and folklore groups from the whole region gather in Vitoslavlice.
The museum is open seven days a week. From May to August - from 10:00 to 20:00; September and April - from 10:00 to 18:00; October to March - 10:00 to 16:00.
The farmyard (admission up to 30 people per session) is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the weekend is Monday.
The museum is undergoing major reconstruction. Access to view some monuments is limited.

The citadel of Veliky Novgorod. Dytynets' is located on the left bank of the Volkhov river. First record about it dates back to 1044. Novgorod Kremlin ensemble is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. In the Kremlin there are: the most ancient temple in Russia - St. Sophia cathedral (1045-1050), Faceted chamber (1433) and other monuments of XV-XIX centuries.
Please note that the Kokuy Tower, as well as the bell tower of St Sophia Cathedral and the Kremlin Battle Procession are closed to the public.

The monument to the Millennium of Russia stands in the center of the Kremlin. It was erected in 1862 and is the only monument to the state. The monument reflects the history of the state from IX to XIX centuries in faces. State officials, military men and heroes, enlighteners, writers and artists are represented here, 129 figures in total.

The temple was built in 1374, its value lies in the frescos, which belong to the brush of the famous icon painter Theophanes the Greek. The painting was made at the end of the 1370s and has no analogues in the world.
Working hours: Daily - from 10:00 to 17:00; Off: Monday, Tuesday, last Thursday of the month. Please note, visits to the temple are limited on days of rainfall.
