    From Nizwa to Bahla, Forts of Oman

    On the first day, you will visit Nizwa, one of the main touristic points of Oman for its souk and famous fort. Then you will visit Bahla Fort which is Unesco World Heritage and Jebreen castle, a very interesting cultural visit.

    Nizwa Souq

    Nizwa souq is a very traditional market with its fortification walls around. Souq means market in Arabic. It is old and very interesting to watch local Omani life especially in the early morning. A great lively place to check out.

    Nizwa Fort

    Nizwa Fort is one of the most impressive and most famous forts in Oman. It has a huge 40 meters high round tower that you can climb to get great views of the surrounding mountains and date plantations. You can also visit different exhibits in the rooms.

    Bahla Fort

    Bahla Fort is one of the biggest Fort in Oman. It was built between the 12th and the 15th century by the Bani Nebhan tribe. It has been very well restored and it has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1987. You can walk around the rooms inside but there are not many artefacts exhibited. The visit is well worthwhile for the panoramic views of the surroundings.

    Jabreen Castle

    Jibreen Castle is an amazing site. It is actually the most interesting visit of all the forts you have seen today. It is huge with many rooms on different floors with many artefacts exhibited and you can listen to the explanations in your audio-guide. From the terrace you will get amazing views of the surroundings. Jebreen castle was built in 1675 by Imam Bil Arab Bin Sultan. Check out the beautiful painted ceilings in the different rooms.
