Exploring the North of Garda Lake

Drive along the coast of Garda Lake, with beautiful views of the lake on your right and the sun lighting up the coast in the morning on your left. Park your car here to visit the nice village of Limone on foot.

The village's name Limone comes from lemons of course. Even though, Garda Lake is located in Northern Italy, there is a mild microclimate that allows to grow lemons, olives and vineyards as well. So here you can visit the historical place where they use to grow lemons intensively. They have still some now. Interesting visit with nice views.

Go to the lakeside promenade for great views of the lake and the port. You can also walk around the small historical center and have a lemon or limoncello ice cream.

La strada del Ponale used to be the main road linking Limone and Riva sul Garda, but now it is a path for pedestrians and bicycles. There is a very nice hike here. The pathway cuts through the cliff and gives you amazing views of the lake and Riva del Garda in the back.

Park your car at this parking lot or a recommended place by your hotel.

In Riva del Garda, this tower is one of the most famous landmarks. You can go up there and enjoy the views on the town, the lake and the mountains.

Walk around the historical center of Riva del Garda, here you will get a viewpoint on the lake.

Rocca is an impressive ancient medieval castle on the lakeside. Inside there is a museum called Museo Alto Garda. It has a lot of interesting exhibits with archeology, history and a picture gallery, essentially about the lake and the town through the centuries. There are also temporary exhibits. And you can go up the tower for nice views. It is worth a visit.

Spend the night at this hotel, right by the lake and on the main square of Riva del Garda. You can stroll around the city at night or have a drink in a bar, it is a very pleasant at night in summer.
