Passing Lake Peipsi

Another grandiose monument, testifying to the great past, can be called Ivangorod Fortress.
It was founded more than five centuries ago and for a long time defended these lands from invaders. Today there are open-air tours, which should be arranged in advance by phone or via website, as the fortress is located in the border zone.

Another important part of the city's museum complex is the Ivanogorod Museum of Art. A whole pleiad of works by various Russian and foreign artists and sculptors is exhibited here. The works of such masters as I.Ya. Bilibin and A.V. Shekatikhina-Potototskaya made a special impression.

After a fascinating tour of the museum, it's worth heading out for a bite to eat. Cafe "Coffee Time" is perfect. The selection of dishes here is generally wide, there are several varieties of pizza, many desserts and Japanese dishes. For ourselves, we spotted a few sweet pancakes, as well as a medium sushi set.

On our way to Pskov, we decided to make a brief stop near the famous Lake Peipsi. It's not just a unique natural site, it was here that the Battle of the Ice once took place, when Alexander Nevsky and his army defeated the German army. The beauty of the local scenery is impressive!

It's time for dinner! We went to a local grill bar called "Grafin". The ambiance of the restaurant was really cozy and relaxing. From the huge assortment of meat dishes we liked the medium-rare steak and for dessert - pistachio ice cream.

For today our journey is over, we are going to the hotel. The day was interesting, but also quite tiring, so it is worth a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we will have a fascinating introduction to Pskov and its history.
