From Azov to Taganrog!

Initially, Merzhanovo farmstead was the most ordinary village, without any attractions. But one day they decided to shoot some scenes of the Russian TV series "The Lighthouse Keeper" here.
The building was built quickly enough, and now it is considered a local landmark, which attracts tourists and locals alike.

When you come to Taganrog, the first thing you should do is visit the Chekhovs' Shop. In addition to interesting exposition in the shop you can buy very tasty tea, coffee and various souvenirs.
You can get into the shop from Tuesday to Sunday.

After a long trip to Taganrog, it's worth taking a break for lunch at the "Freken Bock" café. The menu of this place is a little masterpiece (the names of the dishes will make anyone cringe). There is a special children's menu.

This museum is called the "Pearl of the South of Russia". Here are the paintings of famous artists: F.S. Rokotov, I.E. Repin, V.I. Surikov, I.I. Shishkin and I.I. Levitan.
Anton Chekhov was actively involved in the creation of the museum and in replenishing its collection. The scent of the beginning of the last century is still present here...
Please note, the museum is closed on Mondays.

Anton Chekhov's father was a merchant of the third guild and bought this house only because it was located near his grocery store.
The living conditions in which Chekhov grew up were quite modest. As a child, he and his brother slept on a large chest in a pass-through room.
But it was here that little Antosha began to write his first stories. In the evenings by the light of a kerosene lamp he read them to his family.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.

This unique attraction is located in the old part of town.
At the top, before the descent, there is a sundial. When you get to the bottom, you get to a beautiful promenade that runs along the sea shore. It takes you to a beautiful new park where the locals spend their leisure time.
