Treasures of Cortina

As promised the night before at dinner, we drove to Cinque Torri. It's not a long drive, the bottom station of the elevator that will take us to the local attraction is very close.
We park in the free parking lot and go up. The famous stone pillars are already visible from the "chairlift" on the left side of the road. Quickly get down and go to get acquainted with them. Then we go back to the car on the same elevator.

Now, without wasting time, we go to the elevator with the slightly poetic name "Freccia nel Cielo", which means "Arrow to the Sky". It takes us to the slopes of Tofana, the main summit of the resort, where we can look down on Cortina and the surrounding panorama.
When the local elevator complex is completed in 2021, it will take passengers to the very top, the Tofano di Mezzo, at a dizzying 3,244 meters. It is promised that it will be possible to climb so high, even in winter. If so, we'll be lucky to have the best viewpoint above Cortina!
We park near the elevator and return to the car in an hour and a half.

The visage of Tofana, the very relief peak of Monte Cristallo, also deserves a special visit. We drive up to the elevator that takes us to the observation deck and the Son Forca alpine refuge, leave the car in the parking lot and drive to the top. After about an hour (or maybe faster) we go back down.

To close the subject of the mountain peaks and viewpoints around Cortina, all we have to do is climb the Faloria. The cable car, which leads to it, is very close by and is in itself quite a remarkable object - the appearance of the cabin has not changed, perhaps, since its opening in 1977.
You can also have lunch here, by the way. The Rifugio Faloria has self-service, simple, and a la carte restaurants that are more expensive.

It was time to go back to the hotel and get some rest.

Rested? It's time to go for a walk - Cortina is a great place to gaze at the brightly colored windows, the locals and the dressed-up holidaymakers.

At the same time you can go to the Sport Bar. Every evening, "all of us" easily gather there. Well, we're not strangers now either!)

Cortina is full of good restaurants where you can have a great dinner. Do you like pizza? Pizzeria Porto Rotondo is a good place to end such a busy day.

This time it's better not to stay up too late in the restaurant. We have to get up early, and it's going to be a special day - we're going to see Tre-Cheme!
