Hike to Tre Chima
The Dolomite Alps have many textured, powerful and simply beautiful peaks. But among them there is one very special one - the incredibly spectacular "trident" Tre Chieme. To get to the place where you can see the famous cliffs is not so easy. You have to take a little hike to get there.
The route is not complicated and even a beginner, who was in the mountains for the first time and has good physical shape, will be able to cope with it.
Of what you need to take - trekking boots and poles, a backpack, you will need snowshoes in winter (they, together with the poles can be rented for one day in a sports store, which provides rental sports equipment). Do not forget to take water and a small snack.

We pass Lake Mizurina, where in winter a glamorous polo tournament is held (we are in Cortina, not anywhere). We'll stop for a while to take some pictures of the place and have an espresso at a roadside cafe.

Just a little longer and we are approaching another small lake - Lago-Antorno.
Then, to get to the alpine refuge Rifugio Auronzo, where the hiking route to Tre Chima begins and which is only 6 km away, they charge a pretty big fee - 30 € for a normal car. Alternatively, you can leave your car in the free parking lot and take a shuttle bus.
In winter, no car will be allowed through the barrier and the only option is to get from the lake to the shelter on motorcycle sleds. This service is offered right outside the parking lot.

Then we go about 2 kilometers, the route is relatively gentle and can be done by almost anyone. We are surrounded by mountains and beauty!
The vertical stone wall on the left side of the trail is actually Tre-Cheme, but they turned their backs to us. Our task is to go around and see them from the side. At the end of the trail we emerge at the observation deck, which offers one of the popular views of the famous cliffs.
Here we can take a break, eat the supplies we brought with us, and have a photo shoot.

On the way back to Rifugio Auronzo we follow the same route.
To go further down to the car in the parking lot at the lake, in summer we wait for the bus or walk down - it will not be so tedious, although not fast.
In winter you can go on foot too, or take a motor sled, or rent a regular sled and go down part of the way on it.
We get in the car and head in the direction of Cortina.
