Getting to know the Dolomites

The famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner opens museums named after himself everywhere in his native South Tyrol. There are already six of them, but MMM Corones is very special. At the top of Mount Kronplatz another world celebrity, the architect Zaha Hadid, has built a truly incredible structure. It looks more like a portal than a building, which pierces the mountain with a labyrinth of corridors that jut out in the middle of the slope with huge windows. Words to describe the museum is quite difficult. It is a must-see and must-be photographed.
We leave the car at the parking lot near the elevator to Kronplatz, get into the cabin and in about ten minutes begin to look at the miracle museum.

The "icon" of insta-bloggers is Lake Lago Di Braes, wedged among the mountain peaks. In spring, summer, and fall, it looks especially picturesque. But even in winter, under the snow-covered ice, without the famous boats and with a boarded-up marina, it is fascinatingly dramatic.

The summit of Lagatsoi is a magnet for lovers of mountain landscapes, romantics and professional photographers. Many who come here for the first time lose the power of speech for a while or, on the contrary, begin to speak only with enthusiastic exclamations. The panorama that opens from here is grandiose.
After you hang out and take pictures, you can have lunch right here in the restaurant of the alpine refuge Rifugio Lagazuoi. Sitting on the terrace and looking at the surrounding mountains, you can enjoy the meal until the evening, when the rays of the setting sun make the panorama even more spectacular.
Don't miss the departure downstairs of the last funicular flight of the day at 5:00 p.m. Otherwise, you will have to walk down to your car or spend the night in a shelter, which in principle is also possible.
We go down to the car and go to Cortina D'Ampezzo.

Finally, it was time to check into the hotel. Here we will spend three nights. We check in, drop off our things, and get some rest.

The best way to end an eventful day is with dinner at a cozy restaurant like Cinque Torri. Here you'll see pictures of the picturesque rocks, whose name this place bears.
