Teruelian Beauty

Today promises to be a busy day, so it's worth going to breakfast without delay. At one of the most popular breakfast spots in the city, Cafetería Pastelería Ruiz, we can sample a variety of unusual desserts and homemade pastries, and take some food with us on the road.

Albarracin is a beautiful medieval town, situated over a deep gorge among the rocks and preserved architectural monuments of the XVI century.

After a short walk and a very long drive, it is worth a little break. For this purpose a restaurant of traditional Spanish cuisine La Barrica is perfect. Many kinds of tapas can be found in the menu, fish dishes and seafood also occupy a significant place there. Among the snacks, many people note here mini burgers, as well as baked potatoes.

A small medieval town of Teruel with its narrow streets-labyrinths and towers is a museum of Mudejar style and architecture.

One of the main temples of the city is the Iglesia y Torre de San Pedro. This church is a striking representative of Romanesque and Mudejar architecture. Its bell tower is specially decorated with glazed ceramic tiles. This building, along with many other sites, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Spain and Castile in particular were for a long time under the influence of the Roman Empire, so that a considerable number of architectural monuments are influenced by this culture. Among them is the massive Acueducto de Los Arcos, built in the middle of the sixteenth century to improve the city's water supply.

One of the most beautiful historical structures is the Torre de San Martín. The tower was built in the early fourteenth century and is a masterpiece of the Mudejar style of architecture. The Torre de San Martín, like many structures of this style, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today's trip is coming to an end, we had time to explore one of the most interesting historical cities of Castile - Teruel. Tomorrow our plan is to leave Cuenca and head in the direction of Madrid.
