Beauty Suburb of Madrid

Traditionally, our morning meal in Cuenca will be at the small but cozy Cafetería Pastelería Ruiz. Since we have a long drive right after breakfast, it makes sense to bring some food so that we can eat on the way or stop for a picnic.

Ruta de la Caras is a free tourist route, approximately 1.5 km long, situated near the city of Buendia, it is famous for its carved sculptures of faces and other objects of various sizes.

The beautiful little town of Pastrana is famous for the ducal palace in whose tower the one-eyed princess Eboli was imprisoned, as well as for the collection of tapestries kept in the cathedral.

Among the great culinary diversity in Castile there is also a place for good Italian restaurants, one of which is the pizzeria Francesco's Pizza. Here, traditional dishes of the Apennine peninsula are served in a rather simple but cozy atmosphere. Especially popular is the classic lasagna, as well as spaghetti bolognese.

After lunch, it's time to go to the hotel to check in. When you arrive, you can postpone check-in for a while, leave your belongings in the luggage room, and go for a walk.

One of the best places to start walking in the small town of Alcalá de Henares is one of its central squares, Plaza de Cervantes. It is decorated with a variety of monuments, with trees planted along the paths, and surrounded by numerous authentic buildings along its perimeter.

The evening can be spent in one of the city's luxurious restaurants Vinoteca Esencias del Gourmet. The atmosphere here is suitable to relax at the end of the day. On the menu there are mostly traditional European dishes, among which we can mention quite good light snacks, as well as a variety of meat and fish dishes.

An eventful day is coming to a close. Today we have traveled many kilometers and seen many beautiful sights. Tomorrow we will have to explore the city of Alcala de Henares in more detail, as well as a short trip to Madrid.
