Historic Sites

Our trip to historical sites began not so far from Peterhof in the ancient fort Krasnaya Gorka. It was once one of the sites that protected Kronstadt. Today there are many objects that remind us of those times, including command posts and numerous fortifications, as well as two impressive railway transporters.

Historic Sites

In the small town of Sosnovy Bor there is an original thematic historical park Andersengrad. It was opened to celebrate the birthday of the great writer Hans Christian Andersen, and today is a very interesting object. On its territory you can see many extraordinary stylized architecture and interesting sculptures.

After a walk in the park we got pretty hungry and decided to have lunch in the city in a restaurant called Spice&Strast. The atmosphere in the institution is very cozy, and the menu offers many dishes of European, as well as Asian cuisine. Udon noodles and meat dishes with vegetables are very successful here.

Копорская крепость

One of the most interesting historical objects encountered on our way can safely call the Kopor fortress. Its walls were laid almost seven centuries ago, for a long time they served as an important defensive border of these lands, and now there are exciting excursions at a reasonable price.

Парк Романовка

Arriving in Kingisepp, we decided to go to one of the most popular city places for a walk - Romanovka Park. In addition to the picturesque landscape, the park has a rather interesting history: once these lands belonged to the Adjutant-General of the hero of the Patriotic War KI Bistrom, to whom the central monument of the park Bronze Lion is dedicated.

Екатерининский Собор

During the whole trip we saw many different temples and monasteries, and all of them were quite similar to each other and not very interesting, but Catherine's Cathedral is different from many of them. It was once built by the great Italian architect Antonio Rinaldi, who managed to combine the features of late baroque and classicism in this work.

The Collection

Gastropubs, Irish Pubs

In the evening, having walked the streets of the city, we went for dinner in a small, cozy restaurant called "The Collection". The assortment of dishes here consists mainly of hot and cold snacks, as well as usual dishes of national cuisine.
