Introduction to the history of the Baikal Region

On your way to Baikal you'll see the "Taltsy" Museum of Wooden Architecture. It is situated under the open sky and looks like a village of peoples' friendship: there are Russian huts, Buryat yurts, Tofalar plagues - 40 architectural monuments in total. You can go inside each of the houses and get acquainted with the peculiarities of everyday life of the indigenous peoples of the Baikal area. There is a tavern and a teahouse where you can have a snack.

This small museum will tell how the deepest lake on the planet was formed, how its bottom and relief look like and why it remains crystal clear. Here, in the museum aquarium complex, you can get acquainted with the lake's inhabitants, including the cutest Baikal seals - seals.

Here you are in Baikal! Standing on the shore of the majestic lake, first make a wish, then stroll along the promenade, stopping at souvenir shops on your way, or take a boat ride.
Listvyanka is the most popular tourist spot on Baikal. In July and August it gets especially crowded, but the water gets warm up to +20 degrees and you have a rare chance to take a plunge into the clear waters of the lake.
