Mausoleum of Theodoric
The Mausoleum of Teodorico is quite different from the other Unesco Heritage sites of Ravenna as there are no mosaics here. It is quite interesting for the way it was built with no mortar between the huge blocs of stone which is an ancient roman technique. The mausoleum was built in 520 by King Teodorico.

Chiesa di Sant'Eufemia-Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra

Basilica of San Vitale
The Basilica di San Vitale was built in 547. And the Mosaics here are mind blowing. They mostly represent the old testament. You can get a guided tour if you want more details or you can read the information inside the basilica. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Mausoleo di Galla Placidia
In the garden, in the back of the basilica di San Vitale, you can visit this Mausoleo di Galla Placidia, also a Unesco site. It is small but spectacular as well. Here the mosaics are the oldest in Ravenna, they date back from around 430 AD but are still so well-preserved and colorful. It was constructed for Galla Placidia, the half sister of the Emperor Honorius.

La Piadina del Melarancio

Battistero Neoniano (o degli Ortodossi)
This baptistery was built over a Roman bathing complex in the 4th century. It was built in an octagonal shape and it is one of the most intact building in Ravenna. The mosaics on the ceiling are from the 5th century and depict Christ being baptised by Saint John the Baptist in the river Jordan. It is a Unesco site.
