Castles and Other Locations in Salzburger Land as Filming Sites for the Sound of Music
In the musical The Sound of Music, the film crew used two castles as filming locations for the von Trapp family home. In the park of Hellbrunn Palace today you will find the pavilion that stood in front of Leopoldskron Palace in a famous singing scene. On a hike from Werfen south of Salzburg into the mountains, you will find a viewpoint of the place where the family in the musical left for their journey across the mountains to America.
