Irbit: everyday life history and ancient streets of the city

Along the Irbitsky tract you will see many villages and hamlets. One of them is the village of Kalugina. It is practically abandoned: the 2010 census counted only 11 permanent residents. But here are the old village houses, each of which is unique, and the carved casings on the windows - in general, a separate kind of art.

Next stop is the Irbit State Motorcycle Museum. There is a unique collection of motorcycle equipment of the Irbit motorcycle factory - the one where since 1941 the legendary heavy motorcycles Ural are produced. The plant operates to this day, though not with such a scope as before. You can buy tickets to the museum on the spot, or take a guided tour.

Leave your car in the free parking lot in front of the Admiral Mall and continue exploring the city on foot.

Start your acquaintance with the life of the old town of Irbit with the Museum of Folk Life. Besides excursions in a museum hold thematic master classes - what if you have long dreamed to learn how to roll valenki or mint coins? Here you can have a traditional tea party and a photo shoot in the Russian costumes. There is a souvenir shop.

To the left of the entrance to the Museum of Folk Life is a two-story brick building with rich stone carvings, an example of local housing construction of the late 19th century. This house used to belong to Petr Petrovich Lukanin, a well-known ironwork merchant in the town. And in general, Irbit is a very atmospheric and very brick town, which you will definitely be convinced of after a walk through the historic center.

Walk down Karla Marksa Street and turn to Lenin Street, where something very interesting is waiting for you - a real fairy-tale castle in miniature. It didn't belong to a king or a knight, but to the local merchant Kolmakov. Not only out-of-town merchants, but also the Russian intelligentsia often stayed at the merchant's house.

Here you have reached the heart of Irbit. It was here that the settlers laid the first wooden fortress. Alas, the fortification has not survived to this day. Today it is reminded only by a separately standing wooden tower.
Once you have visited the monument, do not hurry to leave, but rather go down to the river. There you will see a very cute suspension bridge - the place is very "photogenic".

The walk through the historic center of the city is complete, go back to the car - time to eat and go to the hotel.

Just five minutes away is a very cozy dumpling shop. Please note that the cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00.
If you're traveling on Sunday, instead of pelmeni you can stop by the already familiar restaurant "Happiness Eat" or cook dinner yourself in the apartment - there's a kitchenette there.
