Surfing in Imsouane, the Fishermen’s Town

Start your day in the middle of the Dunes at the Timlalin Dunes. They are quite famous for facing the ocean, something quite rare in the region. Make sure to have the appropriate shoes for walks in the sand, and enjoy wandering around in this mystical and unique atmosphere.

Park your car at the beach parking of Imsouane. The town is petite, and you won't need your car to discover its authenticity. Start to discover its little streets on your way to the harbour.

When visiting the village, the small fishing port and the fish market are two sites not to be missed, where a charming and special atmosphere reigns. The enchantment is at its peak when watching the original and friendly scenes of the local fishermen, spontaneously going about their daily rituals.
Some of them go out, others come back. Under the curious gaze of all, the unloaded fish is immediately taken to the small fish market, the hall comes to life, the auction takes place!

This place is a restaurant where you'll be surrounded by local people. They propose a selection of fresh fish coming straight from the sea and the port. You'll eat in front of a wonderful view on the ocean. Make sure to finish your meal with a moroccan mint tea, while enjoying the breeze and the sun!

After lunch and digestion, head to Surf Time Morocco, a little shop where local people will be happy to rent you a board or to give you a surf class. They'll take you to the appropriate spot according to the surf conditions. If you happen to surf Imsouane Bay on this day, you'll surf one of the longest waves of Africa!

After your surf session, you deserve a break! Head to Chez Jolo for a mint tea with one of the best views in town. You'll be facing the bay, and you can admire the surfers doing their things from where you'll be chilling.

Get back to your car and drive directly to Tafedna, a little corner of paradise an hour from Essaouira and from Imsouane. A haven of peace where time seems to have stopped and where nature still has all its rights.
As you arrive there, head straight to the Cafe Restaurant TaYoukhTe ChezAhmed, where you'll be able to enjoy fresh fish from the ocean, facing the sunset.

After diner, head to the guesthouse where you'll spend the night. Dancing the Waves is a little place in the heights of Tafedna beach. You'll sleep lulled by the calm and immensity of this place. Make sure to book your room before getting there.
