Birreria Los Mezquites
While you are in Puerto Peñasco, it pays to try birria, a specialty from the more southern Mexican Region of Jalisco. There is no place better in the city center than Birrieria "Los Mezquites." Though the cozy outdoor spot closes at 3pm, they sell out early, so getting there around 1pm will ensure that you get to try this delicious stewed beef or goat meat. Go for a medium, mixed bowl (media mixta) and a taco or two on the side. Los Mezquites is closed on Wednesdays.

El Arbolito de Mi Playa
After lunch head to this hidden little patch of trees along the more southern and eastern beach of Playa Mirador. The best part of this area is how quiet and peaceful it is compared to some of the more popular beaches in Rocky Point. Wade in the water or just sit and read a book while enjoying the birdsong and waves.
