Lighthouse Cap Gris-Nez
Start your day at "Cap Gris-Nez", which means cape grey nose. The place is called like this for the grey colour of this rocky promontory. It is the closest point of France to England: the white cliffs of the English coast are only 28 km away.
Take some time to explore the area. The headland is a perfect view point to watch the hundreds of ships, from oil tankers to small fishing boats, sailing through the Channel every day. It's also a stopping-off point for millions of migrating birds. Be careful not to walk too close to the edge of the cliff.
