    Les Bourgeois de Calais

Located in front of Calais' city hall, the Burghers of Calais is a famous sculpture by Auguste Rodin. It portrays six leading citizens in 1347 as they surrender to the besieging English forces during the Hundred Years' War. The city of Calais charged Rodin to create this sculpture in 1884.
