Into the Heart of Morvan Regional Park

Start your road trip at the Morvan Park headquarters in St-Brisson. It's a huge 40-hectare property with two museums, discovery trails, a herbularium and an arboretum. You can easily spend the all morning there.

First, have a look at the Visitors Centre, which delivers all the information you need for your stay in the Morvan, including hiking maps. Then you can visit the Morvan Ecomuseum dedicated to the history of the territory. If you are interested, there is also a Resistance Museum, commemorating the Morvan's role in the fight against German occupation during World War II. Don't miss the interpretative trail along the Taureau Pond and the nice botanical garden inspired by medieval gardens.

The "Saut de Gouloux" waterfall is a very popular place in the Morvan. Located in the depths of the forest, you can get there easily after a short hike along a guided path. You can choose between the small loop (800 m, 30 min) or the large loop (1 km, 45 min). On the long lap, you will enjoy a beautiful viewpoint over the Gouloux bell tower.

You have arrived at the Settons lake, one of the most beautiful lakes of the Morvan. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as water sports, hiking or boat trips.
There is a hiking path that goes all around the lake. It is 14 km-long, so you can count approximately 4 hours. If you don't like to hike that much, you can simply walk a section. It is also possible to drive all around the lake and make some stops on the way.

If you are in the mood for water sports, instead of hiking, then head to the Activital Base "Sport et Nature des Settons". They offer catamaran, sailing, stand-up paddle and also mountain biking. Information on their website.
