Montrepo in French means place of my rest, so named his country residence by the Duke of Wurttemberg, who used it for several years. The history of the place is more closely linked to the Nicolai Barons, who for a long time owned an estate in the area. Under them, the complex acquired modern features - the existing living quarters were rebuilt, sculptural compositions were erected, and the park expanded to its current size.
