Adventure and Sports in Hatta

Early in the morning, drive to the mountain town of Hatta for a wide range of adventures. You can start the day by exploring the area on a mountain bike. There are 52 kilometres of trails that have colours according to difficulty, from green (easy) to black (difficult), like ski slopes. You can also rent paddle boats. However, swimming in the lake is not allowed and swimwear is not usually worn, it being better to wear normal clothes which will also protect your skin better. Hiking in the hills around Hatta is another great way to get to know the area and enjoy beautiful views. As it can be very hot, remember to take plenty of water with you, as well as a hat and sunscreen. And it is important to wear good walking shoes.

After so much sport and adventure, a little culture is a good thing. Hatta Heritage Village is a reconstitution of an ancient village located in a restored historic fort. Take the opportunity to visit the majlis, which are reception rooms.
There are also exhibits of weaponry, palm-tree products, handicrafts, traditional costumes and objects showing the culture of the UAE in the past. Go up the defensive tower from 1880 to get beautiful views of the surroundings. This is a great spot to enjoy the sunset.
