Korela fortress was built by Novgorodians as a defensive construction, protecting the borders against numerous attempts to be conquered by the Swedes. All of these places deserve your attention, but Ludwigstein Island is particularly interesting. It is shrouded in legends, one of which is associated with the Swedish King Erik XIV. Ludvig Heinrich Ludwigstein wrote about it in his poem "Monrepo Manor in Finland. 1804" by Ludwig Heinrich Nicolai.
