Medina Azahara - Conjunto Arqueológico Madinat al-Zahra
The ruins of this great walled Arab city are declared Unesco Heritage. The museum you can visit is partly built underground, to don’t damage the ruins. Nice side-effect: it’s a real cool place to visit during hot summer months. It’s a good idea to watch the movie in the museum first, before you walk around. Castillo Almodovar del Rio
Another piece of Arab cultur is to be found here. Castillo Almodovar del Rio used to be a Roman fort but the structure you are looking at now is Morisch ans stems from the year 760. Wow, that is a long time ago isn’t it! And guess what, part of the series Game of Thrones was filmed here.

Centro De Visitantes Huerta Del Rey
Time to go exploring. The best place to start is at the visitors centre. Here you get to know more about the area. You can park your car on the big parking lot and go for a nice walk into nature. There are several routes to take, short ones and long ones, all easy to navigate.

You can park your car somewhere down the road here. On the crossroad you will see signs that guide you to the Ermita. Follow these signs for a walk to the convent. The further you park your car, the shorter the walk. If you park your car near the crossroad it is a 40-minute walk to the convent. Be sure other vehicles can still pass when you park.

Ermita Virgen De Belen
The walk to Ermita Virgen de Belen is nice and quiet, you will find yourself in the middle of nature. There are benches to rest when you get tired. If you are lucky the convent is open and you can take a look inside. But if it is closed, it isn't the worst thing because on the outside there is also a lot to see. What a beautiful building, isn't it? When you took your pictures and had a little rest, it is time to go back to your car.
