Tikhvin - Old Ladoga - Vsevolzhsk - Saint Petersburg

Despite the fact that the city has many cafes and restaurants of different levels, they open mostly at lunchtime. An ice-cream cafe is a pleasant exception, it opens at 9 a.m. and pleases not only with ice-cream and desserts, but also with full second courses. The atmosphere here is provincially nostalgic.

Tikhvin is the birthplace of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. The house on which the museum is based was built in 1801 by the composer's grandfather. The museum has more than 10 thousand exhibits in its main fund. The greatest value are the personal belongings of Rimsky-Korsakovs, items of noble life, furniture, claviers and scores with the composer's autographs. Family relics are kept in the house: baptismal shirt, woollen plastering, kid's kid's kid gloves.

It's time to move towards St. Petersburg. On the way we will visit Old Ladoga, where, according to legend, in the IX century began its reign Rurik.
The main attraction of the city is the Old Ladoga Fortress. In 1970s, archaeological excavations have shown that the Old Ladoga Fortress was built on the site of other fortresses, built in the IX and XII centuries.
