Kamnik Delights and Its Epic River Valley Nature Region

Kamnik is a gorgeous town just outside of Ljubljana, rich in historical and natural sights, including the Kamniška Bistrica River Valley region. This two-day route helps you make the most of every hour with a trip north. Beginning in Kmani, you'll discover the atmosphere of the small town before checking out one of the most well-curated gardens in Europe. Two castles within Kamnik are well worth a visit too, and on the first day, you'll get to explore both of them and discover the treasures they both have to offer. You'll stay in Kamnik for a lovely dinner before arriving at your accommodation for the night, a wonderful guesthouse where you can see the mountains, trees and stars as night falls.
On day two, you'll set your sights slightly out of Kamnik itself to explore the incredible Kamniška Bistrica River Valley region. Beginning with a peaceful, quaint walk along the river valley, you can marvel over the jaw-dropping colour of the fresh river water and fall in love with the valley's rocky features before grabbing a coffee to enjoy in this wilderness. You'll then take a small hike in the region before onwards to Velika Planina. This is a ski resort in winter and a wonderful nature wilderness in hotter months. It also hosts heritage herdsmen huts and makes for an interesting trip on the chairlifts from above all year round.
