Ruins of old churches, Danilovsky prison castle, Danilovsky Kazansky monastery on Gorushka

The hipped bell tower of the Church of the Nativity in the village of Goat is all that is left of the church of the end of XVIII century. The temple was significantly damaged in the 60s, when locals began to dismantle it into bricks. A couple of years ago, the temple began to be reconstructed - the bell tower is already standing in the woods.

The Spasskaya church near the village of Lubim was built in 1772. It is in ruined condition, but the cemetery next to it is functioning.
The church with its saggy head looks best from a distance, but do not be lazy to get close: you can not miss it!

There is another Church of the Savior an hour's drive from Lubim, and it will surprise you even more.
An imposing building with elements of Byzantine style was erected in Minino in 1810 on the money of the parishioners. During the Soviet times, the church was used as a storehouse, and then was abandoned. Inside you can see the remains of paintings.

Hunger can be quenched at the roadside café "Sagai, Palermo", which can offer Japanese cuisine, soups, fresh salads and pizza at very low prices.

Felix Dzerzhinsky and Alexander Solzhenitsyn visited the walls of Danilovsky prison Castle. It is also the only prison castle in Russia that has survived in its original form. It is believed that only one person escaped from the castle during the whole period of its existence.
The castle often hosts historical films (e.g. "The Penalty Officer") and thematic meetings. It is possible to get here with a guide, but an appointment must be made in advance.

Let's have a last look at the Kazan Danilovsky Monastery. Its history is unique: it was consecrated in 1918, after the Soviet power reigned in Yaroslavl province. Thus, it is the last temple consecrated in Russia till 1990th.
The church is in need of repair. There is little left of the once luxurious interior decoration, but it is good that the temple is not abandoned and not forgotten.
