    Melikhovo

    The estate in Melikhovo was built in the 18th century. A.P. Chekhov bought the manor in 1892.
    The writer lived here with his family. During 7 years of his life in Melikhovo he managed to open 3 schools, practiced medicine and received patients here.
    Anton Chekhov gave each corner of the estate its own name. The household yard was "Naive yard", the vegetable garden was called "South of France".

    Sobornaya Gora

    Sobornaya Mountain is the main viewing platform of Serpukhov. In 1374 there appeared a small fortress of oak. Under Vasily III, a stone fortress was built in its place. Under Ivan the Terrible, it became a white stone fortress.
    In the XX century the fortress was dismantled, the stone was intended to be used for the construction of the Moscow subway.
    Fragments of the fortress wall survived. The 1380 Trinity Cathedral was also preserved.
