A trip for those who are interested in history from ancient times to the present day. The journey will begin with a tour of the dolmens near Gelendzhik on the way to the hero-city of Novorossiysk. In Novorossiysk itself we will get acquainted with some monuments that are part of the complex "Heroes of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War", such as the monument "Exodus" and the ensemble-memorial "Small Land".
Today we will get acquainted with ancient dolmens, we will look at a city from an observation deck, we will learn a history of the cruiser "Michael Kutuzov" and we will walk on quay of a city.
On the way to Novorossiysk you should stop near the village Vozrazhdeniya. Here you can find dolmens - constructions of ancient times. Their exact purpose is unknown and there are many suggestions as to why they were needed. Entrance is free, and if you want to buy something to remember this place, there is a souvenir shop at the entrance.
Before we continue our journey to Novorossiysk, we should stop for lunch. The café in Lyubo serves European dishes. Good atmosphere and delicious food at pleasant prices.
Novorossiysk meets us at the observation deck. Here you can see the city, the Tsemesskaya Bay and the Black Sea water area. Not far from the observation deck there are several places where you can buy coffee and enjoy the view of the sea.
The cruiser "Mikhail Kutuzov" is one of the symbols of Novorossiysk. The entrance to the museum costs 250 rubles per person. There are group excursions in the museum, which tell the story of the cruiser and demonstrate what is inside the ship. In front of the cruiser is a monument to the "Wife of a sailor" as a symbol that he is always expected. * It's important to note that the museum isn't open on Mondays and Tuesdays *
Before dinner you can walk along the quay near the cruiser "Mikhail Kutuzov". From here you can see the opposite shore of Novorossiysk Bay. On the quay there are several interesting sculptures: "The Girl on the Dolphin", the monument to the founders of Novorossiysk and the monument "Unknown Sailor". It is especially pleasant to walk along the embankment in summer when the sea wind gives a pleasant coolness.
You can have a rest after a long trip and have a dinner at the Caucasian restaurant "Caucasian Yard". The restaurant's interior is decorated in the style of 50-60s of XX century and decorated with handmade items. In the hot season, you can sit on the terrace. Cozy atmosphere, national food and southern hospitality are the perfect place to complete the first day of your trip.
The second day of the trip will take us to military sites dedicated to the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. On the way to Krasnodar we will visit the Small Land, look at the monument "Exodus", stop at the memorial "Shot Wagon" and admire the sea from the observation deck near the monument to the revolutionary sailors.
The first place we will visit on the second day of the trip is the Small Land Memorial Ensemble. On the territory of the ensemble there is a museum of military equipment, a memorial to fallen soldiers, and inside the monument Small Land there is a gallery of military glory. You can visit all the places on your own or buy a tour for only 100 rubles.
On the embankment named after Admiral Serebryakov there is one of the new monuments of Novorossiysk - "Exodus". This monument, depicting the White Guard and his horse, was established in 2013 and is dedicated to the Civil War. Before a long journey you should look at this monument and walk along the quay.
For lunch, we'll stop by the Eniki Beniki restaurant. The restaurant mainly serves dumplings, dumplings and manty, but you can also order something else, such as a salad or fish. Everybody will find a dish to their liking.
Driving along the road towards Gelendzhik, one cannot help noticing the reinforced concrete structure above the road. It is a monument "Line - border of defense", which is presented in the form of 4 hands with weapons. Next to it is the monument "Shot Wagon" with about 10,000 bullet holes. These two monuments were erected in honour of the defence of the North Caucasus against the enemy during the Great Patriotic War.
The last attraction of our trip will be the monument to revolutionary sailors. The monument itself is dedicated to the tragedy of 1918, when ships of the Black Sea Fleet and several cargo ships were sunk in the Tsemesskaya Bay. The monument itself is located on the observation deck overlooking Novorossiysk, the village of Kabardinka and Tsemesskaya Bay.
Before returning to Krasnodar you should stop and have dinner at the restaurant "Kharchevnya". The restaurant can offer traditional Russian and European dishes. A view of the artificial lake from the veranda will be a pleasant bonus to dinner.
