When did the First World War end? Any schoolchild will tell you that it was in 1918. However, this isn't quite right. In fact, the United States didn't ratify and sign the Treaty of Versailles until 1921.
And it happened here, on the golf course, where President Warren Harding signed the document ending World War I.
Now there's only a memorial plaque, installed at the place of the document signing, to remind us of this significant event.
You can stop here for a few minutes. A photograph of this memorial will serve as a testament to the historical event that ended the First World War for the United States, three years later than most people think.
Be careful! The memorial is located very close to a busy highway.

One of the largest model railways in the world is located in Northlandz. Such a large-scale exhibit is interesting for both children and adults. The owner of the museum has been doing this for 40 years.
The collection includes about 135 locomotives and thousands of train cars. The total length of the railroad tracks is over 8 miles. The model also presents many humorous scenes from the daily lives of railway workers.

Grounds for Sculpture is a very interesting sculpture park, where you'll find 300+ exhibits of various genres, both classic and abstract. The sculptures are made of metal, stone, plastic, paper, and other materials. Some of them are visible from afar, and some can only be found by sharp-eyed visitors.
Grounds for Sculpture is also a true gift for impressionism connoisseurs. The founder of the park recreated paintings by famous French masters in sculpture. You can walk into Van Gogh's famous ""Room in Arles"", join Renoir's ""Luncheon of the Boating Party"" or see Manet's ""Olympia"".
Grounds for Sculpture is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

This museum tells the 200-year-old story of life on a large farm. There are a variety of outbuildings to explore, including mills, a smithy, a coach house, sheds, barns, dams, and much more.
For two centuries the estate was owned by the Walns family, until 1985, when their heirs donated the site and land to the park.

Did you know that aliens attacked Earth in 1938? It didn't really happen, but thousands of people in the US were convinced it did when they heard HG Wells' radio show, War of the Worlds, performed by Orson Welles. The radio show made the whole nation shudder, and perhaps never has a performance had such a strong impact on an audience.
In memory of this historical event, a monument has been erected in Van Nest Park with the image of a frightened family of radio listeners and Orson Welles reading the famous science fiction novel.
