Añana Salt Lakes and Gorbeia Natural Park

The proposal for the morning of the second day is to visit one of the many parks and green areas of the city. A good idea for the family is to do it by bicycle. The city has 150 km of bicycle lanes.
One of the parks you can visit is Salburua Park. There you will find several damp areas and you can see many types of birds. The park has several trails that connect the lagoons and can be walked or cycled through. In the interpretation centre there is a bicycle rental service.

After explore the green areas of the city, it's time for lunch. You can have some pintxos or pizza in this restaurant near the park before continuing your journey to the next destination.

The next stop is the Salinas de Añana, a different place that children (and adults) will love. Añana salt is considered one of the best in the world.
There are different options for activities. Some can be done all year round and others only in the summer season.
Visit to the Salt Valley In this experience you will be able to get to know the landscape of the salt flats in different guided tours. Between the months of April and October you can dip your feet and hands in the hyper-salty waters and learn about their therapeutic effects.

Salt Workshop In this activity the family will be able to become salt makers for a day and learn about their trade. A guide will show you the different steps to produce salt and you will be able to make it.
This activity is available between May and October on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. In July and August, every day.

Valle Salado + tasting In this proposal, as well as getting to know the landscape of the salt pans, their production and the importance of their recovery, you will be able to do a salt tasting. During the activity, you will be able to evaluate the appearance and smell and taste sensations of the different types of salt in the area: Mineral Salt, Flor de Sal, Liquid Salt and Chuzo.

Note that the activities can be combined and that you should arrive 15 minutes before the start of each activity.
When you finish your visit you can have a quick snack with the snacks you bought.

On the way to Bilbao and before returning, you can stop off at the Gujuli waterfall in the Gorberia Natural Park.
You have to leave the car in the car park and walk just 10-15 minutes to the viewpoint.

Once there, enjoy the waterfall of more than 100 metres and take lots of pictures. The best time to see it with plenty of water is during spring or autumn.
After this stop it is time to return to Bilbao, after a trip with great family experiences.
