With great American cities like Chicago and Detroit sandwiching the regions on this road trip, many travelers forget to visit the unique places and slower pace of life in the in-between.
    On this road trip, you travel through a prominent Amish town named Shipshewana, famous for its rolling farmland where you can enjoy farm-fresh fare and visit the Midwest’s largest flea market. You’ll then make your way to Springfield, Illinois to celebrate the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, who spent 17 years in the town before becoming the 16th U.S. President. In Springfield, you will grow a deeper appreciation for the ways in which Lincoln pioneered American life today.
    Your last day will bring you through more unique sites, including a 1920s farm, where you will learn about the importance of farming and the American homestead during the period of industrialization.
    Note for this trip it may be necessary to pack a cooler in your car as you will be making many stops along the way, including charging stations, so eating on the go may save you time, especially on the drive back home.
