Atmosphere of the past

Why don't we stop at the lake for a little while? We'll take a little walk, there's a long road ahead of us. The lake is surrounded by a pine forest, so it breathes easily and the views are fascinating.

The fortress was founded back in 1323 by the Novgorodians, and since 1612 it has belonged to Sweden for almost a hundred years, only in 1702 Peter I returned it. Such famous historical figures as Evdokia Lopukhina, the first wife of Peter the Great, Emperor John VI Antonovich, were imprisoned in the fortress. In 1941-1943 the garrison of the fortress heroically defended almost 500 days and did not let the fascists to the legendary "Road of Life".
You can get to the island from the pier in Shlisselburg by boat, ferry or boat.

Another place that's definitely worth a visit. Museum-Reserve "Breakthrough of the Siege of Leningrad" was established in 1990 on the basis of the museum-diorama, opened in 1985, and memorable places of the Great Patriotic War.

The fortress is the main attraction of the Old Ladoga. Here you can plunge into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The fortress will seem to be a portal to the past and both adults and children will enjoy their stay.
