Carrarese's Castle of Padua
Carrarese's Castle of Padua is closed at this time, but worth seeing from the outside. This is one of the most predominant artistic, historical, architectural, and military heritages in the city and looks like a medieval fairytale castle where it sits by the canal.
The current castle was built in the 14th century but sits in the place of an earlier castle dating back to the early 1200s. In the 1900s the castle was used as a prison.

Padua Cathedral
Padua's Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption is built where the city's first cathedral was erected in the year 313. Originally, it was dedicated to Saint Justina, but it became dedicated to the Assumption of Mary after one of the important reconstructions that took place between the years 462 and 602. The facade is still not finished.
One of the finest art pieces in the basilica is the frescos by Giusto de Menabuoi covering the wall and ceiling in the baptistery.
The cathedral is open until 19:30 7 days a week.

Piazza dei Signori
Another important square in Padua is the 14th century. One of the top attractions of the square is the Torre Dell’Orologio (Clock Tower) which is a stupifying example of Medieval and Renaissance details.
On the other side of the square sits the Chiesa di San Clemente. The square is also a popular marketplace. There are several shops, restaurants, and cafes on the square and this is a good place to take a short coffee rest.
