    Lindisfarne Castle

    Leave your car and walk to the South Eastern tip of the island to Lindisfarne Castle.
    This 16th-Century castle was built using rocks from the priory buildings after it was abandoned in 1536 and was used primarily as a fortification during the many wars fought across the English and Scottish border. It stands on the highest point of the island and looks out across the North Sea.
