Day 1 will take you to the old Viking Capital of Yorvik, now known as York! Here you will stop in at the Yorvik Viking centre and see a reconstruction of a Viking settlement, before heading off to Valhalla Bar & Restaurant for some lunch! Your first Viking attraction is the famous Jorvik Viking Centre - home to many of the Viking artifacts found along Britain's Northern Coastline as well as a reconstruction of a Viking settlement, based on buildings excavated in the local area.
The museum will take roughly an hour, but may take a little longer, so make sure to leave yourself a little breathing room!

    Bamburgh Beach

After the castle, why not head down and spend an hour on Bamburgh beach!
From the beach, the magnificent Bamburgh Castle makes for an imposing sight and makes you wonder how the invading Norsemen must have felt as they pulled their longboats ashore.

    Bamburgh Lighthouse

From the beach, it's a leisurely 20-minute walk up the coast to Bamburgh Lighthouse.
While not specifically a Viking site, from the vantage point of Bamburgh Lighthouse, you can look out across the North Sea and imagine the sails of the Viking Longboats on the horizon!

    The Sunningdale

Accommodation options are limited in Bamburgh, but the Sunningdale offers comfort at a reasonable rate. Prices are subject to change over Summer Season.
A slightly cheaper option would be The Olde Ship Inn

If you're looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can actually book The Clocktower at Bamburgh Castle! Find out more information here.
