Trip to Sofia

One of the most memorable moments of a trip is going to a restaurant. It's for the sake of such moments that places like Le Petit Paris are worth visiting. The atmosphere here is French elegance, the menu abounds with various delicacies, among which we should mention pork knuckle with bone, various salads, and steaks of varying degrees of cooking. The prices here are a little bit higher than average.

During the long drive we should not forget to make small stops to walk and rest, and the first place we will stop today is the picturesque Liberty Island Park. It's an incredibly quiet and beautiful place, with well-kept alleys, neat trees and bushes, and small dinosaur figurines, which looks very funny from the outside.

The Peristera fortress is another beautiful monument of ancient architecture that we met on our way. The area around it is wonderfully organized and well-maintained, with neat paths and stairs leading to all the important sites. There are buildings that have survived as well as those that have largely collapsed. Because the fortress is situated on a hill, the views from here are truly fascinating.

After quite a long excursion, you need to rest a bit and gain strength for the rest of the day. To do this, it is worth stopping on the way to the small restaurant Riben Ristorante. It specializes in fish dishes. Among the great variety you should try shrimp fried in oil with garlic and spices, as well as carp steak with spices and sauce.

Among the numerous monuments of medieval and ancient architecture in Bulgaria there are also objects of later eras, among which the royal residence Tsarska Bistrica, built at the end of the XIX century, stands out. The main feature of the residence, of course, is the interior decoration - tiled stoves covered with Austrian tiles, columns and ceilings decorated with national carvings, as well as numerous trophies of the royal family, hung on the walls. It is worth saying that the opening hours of the facility are not very convenient, namely on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the entrance for tourists is closed.

For a dinner after a long trip, you can go to the restaurant "Buddies". The atmosphere here is generally pleasant, customers can choose to spend time on a small, furnished terrace or in a cozy room. The menu is full of Bulgarian dishes, among which national salads, soups, as well as roasted meat with vegetables and spices dominate.

One of the pleasant features of Sofia is quite a large number of various parks, green spots and squares, where locals and tourists spend their evenings, and Yuzhen Park is one of these places. It should be said that it is very popular, and in the evening it is visited by quite a large number of tourists, and this is not surprising, because it is really very beautiful, especially during sunset.

Today we drove quite a long way, we saw a lot of different historical places, as well as incredible natural beauty. Our trip brought us to the capital, tomorrow we plan to look around a little bit and head back to Plovdiv.
